Growth & Continuity Formula : Defend / Adapt / Transform
Growth + Continuity
Sustainable Growth and meaningful Continuity depend on how organizations frame decisions under uncertainty and over time, not only on how efficiently they execute once choices are made. It is a discipline for steering organizations through time.
Growth + Continuity is the pressure you feel.
CORE is the system that helps you manage it.
The CORE Programs
Growth + Continuity
Growth + Continuity is the organizing objective of AUGMNT’s work. It addresses a fundamental challenge facing organizations today: how to grow, adapt, and create value over time without losing coherence, resilience, or direction. This challenge cannot be met through planning alone. It requires explicit organizational cognition.
CORE — The Explicit Operating Framework Enabling Growth + Continuity
CORE is the Explicit Operating Framework that enables Growth + Continuity to function.
It provides a structured way for organizations to make their:
- structure,
- time horizons,
- value logic
explicit, inspectable, and governable.
CORE gives organizations the operating infrastructure required to reason, decide, and adapt deliberately over time.
Growth + Continuity defines what the organization is trying to achieve. CORE defines how the organization thinks and acts to achieve it
CORE
An Explicit Operating Framework
CORE is a self-assembly operating framework that helps organizations make their internal logic explicit and workable.
CORE provides a structured way to represent:
- how the organization holds together,
- how it evolves over time,
- how it creates and sustains value.
It is designed for environments where decisions must be made faster than traditional management structures can keep up.
What CORE Does
CORE gives organizations a shared operating framework.
It enables leaders and teams to:
- see structure, time, and value at the same time,
- surface hidden tensions and assumptions,
- orient decisions under uncertainty,
- adapt deliberately rather than reactively.
CORE does not prescribe strategy. It makes better strategy-making possible.
How CORE Works (At a Glance)
CORE is built from three interlocking dimensions:
- Structural — how coordination, roles, and governance hold together
- Temporal — how present operations, transitions, and future direction interact
- Economic — how assets, value dynamics, and risks are managed
Each dimension includes:
- a diagnostic to establish a clear baseline,
- a shared visual canvas to support reasoning and decisions.
Together, they form a persistent internal operating framework.
How Organizations Use CORE
Organizations use CORE as a standing orientation layer.
It is brought into focus when:
- decisions become ambiguous,
- tensions accumulate,
- assumptions stop matching reality,
- risk becomes difficult to articulate.
CORE is activated through structured engagements and remains in use as an internal operating framework.
What CORE Is Not
CORE is not a report. Not a one-time intervention. It’s the background from which the foreground shows up.
Who Are These Programs For?
These programs are for all organizations and their people responsible for leading an organization through growth, change, and strategic uncertainty.
How CORE Is Activated
CORE is activated through canvases and models, workshops, trainings, and advisory engagements, depending on organizational context and objectives.
Made with you and for you
Certain CORE components can be implemented in close collaboration with management teams.
STRUCTURE
Structural Viability (SV)
Focus: Can the organization function as a coherent system?
Based on Stafford Beer’s Viable System Model, this program examines whether the organization can govern itself without overload, fragmentation, or loss of control.
It addresses the ability to:
- distribute decision-making appropriately
- coordinate activities without bureaucracy
- regulate performance without micromanagement
- learn without destabilizing operations
- maintain a clear organizational identity
Canvas
The Structural Viability Canvas helps make governance, coordination, and decision flows explicit and assess whether the organization can operate and adapt without breaking.
Capabilities enabled
- identify structural bottlenecks and overload
- restore autonomy where it is needed
- improve coordination and control
- strengthen the organization’s structural viability
HORIZONS
Temporal Viability (3 Horizons / 3H1S)
Focus: Can the organization remain relevant over time?
This program teaches how present performance, transition, and future transformation interact across the three horizons:
- H1: current operations and extensions
- H2: emergent capabilities and models
- H3: transformative futures
The emphasis is not on prediction, but on continuity through change.
Canvas
The 3 Horizons (Three Horizons, One System) Canvas makes growth–continuity dynamics visible across time, treating all horizons as one integrated system rather than competing priorities.
Capabilities enabled
- balance short-term performance and long-term relevance
- manage transition deliberately
- reduce horizon blindness and strategic drift
- strengthen the organization’s temporal viability
VALUE
Economic Viability (Assets)
Focus: Can the organization sustainably create value?
This program reframes the business as a portfolio of tangible and intangible assets, each with different value and risk dynamics.
It addresses the need to:
- design business models around the right asset mix
- understand risk as both threat and opportunity
- manage assets with appropriate tools and systems
- measure and govern value beyond purely financial metrics
Canvas
The Asssets Canvas or map makes the organization’s asset structure, risk exposure, and value logic explicit and manageable.
Capabilities enabled
- see the business as an asset portfolio
- improve allocation of capital and attention
- align risk-taking with value creation
- strengthen the organization’s economic viability
Coherence across the three CORE solutions
Together, the three CORE programs address three distinct but complementary dimensions of survival:
- Structural viability — can the organization function?
- Temporal viability (continuity) — can it remain relevant over time?
- Economic viability — can it sustainably create value?
Each program stands on its own. Together, they enable Growth + Continuity across structure, time, and value.
What this creates is a shared, visual understanding of the organization — a map leaders and teams can use to orient themselves.
Rather than relying on fragmented reports or intuition alone, the organization gains a macro-level view that makes structure, time, and value visible together. Decision flows, coordination, and governance become explicit; present operations, transitions, and future directions are seen side by side; assets, value dynamics, and risk exposure are mapped clearly.
This forms a cognitive dashboard — not a digital system, but a shared frame of reference — enabling earlier awareness, aligned conversations, and deliberate decision-making.
