AUGMNT & AI

Note on AI Assistance

Artificial intelligence may be used in the development of our work as a cognitive, research, analytical and editorial aid. It can assist with organizing and comparing information, exploring relationships and alternatives, testing ideas, refining language, identifying inconsistencies or repetition, and developing clearer representations of existing thinking. AI is also used as an accurate tool for translation.

AI does not determine our ideas, positions, conclusions or final judgments. AI-assisted material is reviewed, assessed, revised, accepted or rejected under human direction. Responsibility for the final work, including any errors or omissions, remains human.

Our use of AI follows three principles:

CONTENT
We use AI in areas where we have sufficient knowledge and experience to evaluate its output and detect errors, drift, unsupported assertions, hallucinations or low-quality content.

CONTEXT
We determine the relevance, adequacy and authority of the information and context within which AI operates. Context is not delegated blindly to the system.

CONTROL
We maintain human direction and control throughout the process — over what AI is asked to do, the information it works from, how its output is evaluated, and what ultimately becomes part of the work.

AI assists. Humans provide Content competence, Context authority and Control.
